LOL id like to see the EU try and take out the US militarily we kick ass. We spend 4% of our GDP on national defense while the EU spends 1.5% umm i wonder who will win?????Best troops anywhere is in America. why should i pay for somebody else to have health care. people should plan ahead, and if they dont they die weed out the sick. Are you being serious?Your caliber of ignorance baffles me.Our military DOES NOT kick ass, it stopped kicking ass as soon as other nations got nuclear weapons; with those, it really does not matter how many tanks you make in a month. You wonder who will win? Whoever pushes the button first. Plan ahead you say? Well I would love to see your schedule, let's see on which days of the year you plan on getting the flu. Or perhaps cancer? Can you plan ahead for that? Weed out the sick? God forbid you or a loved one of yours would contract a terrible terminal illness and you find yourself in a situation where, unless you come up with hundreds of thousands of dollars, you won't be treated. I'm sure in that situation you'll be taking all that you said. Heck, Perhaps you would even agree and say that the US should stop spending so much money on "the gun show" and more money on caring for its people because, after all, that is part of the government's job isn't it? What is the point of spending all the money in being able to fully defend your borders when everyone inside is dying? America and the rest of the world need to understand that "business as usual" is dead. Either humanity enlightens itself and unites as ONE; in true care for one another and the pursuit of things that matter (IE: Space exploration, scientific advancements) or humanity wipes itself out. Did you know? We are approaching that cross-roads very fast.
There is a problem with what you said DuderSeb, are militray is the best in the world. look at how we did so well in desert storm, and Iraq. And do not say it was are alys, we were the main force in both and provided air support, we crushd Iraq twice. Also few nations have nuclear weapons, let me give you a list. U.S, U.k, France, Russia, India, Pakistan, China and maybe Iran and North Korea. All thos countrys would lose big time if they fired nuks (execpt South Korea). Also DuderSeb you act like we are spending all are money on the military, we spent more during the cold war. Also the health care thing, you act like we have some uper plague going on, we have one best health care systems in the world, also if you or a famly member have a terminal illenis, God forbade, I dont think alot of people would have enough money to spend on the
posibilty of a cure
. Sorry but life is not always fair.

If the US follows the constuition the way it was written and each branch does its job the US should last as a Superpower for a long time. And it we dont get a liberal as president.

It depends on only one thing: If we move to a Democratic leadership, then yes, at least for quite a long while the U.S. will remain a Superpower. If we, however, continue down the path of the Warpublicans, the rest of the world will simply put us down- heck, they'll HAVE to- and we'll no longer have any prestige, control or respect.
The answer to your question is directly related to if you vote for "more of the same/right" or "back on the correct path/left" in November.
Eventually, once we become more universally enlightened as an entire species, we'll move away from the notion of countries and focus more on the entire planetary body. So eventually the notion of Superpower nations will be irrelevant. I wish I was around for that day now, but it will be thousands of years away, barring any major happening that unravels our societal structure as we know it.

Foreign economies with a lot of room for improvement improve fast. Then they do not improve so fast. No communist country will surpass us as long as it remains communist.

Interesting to read..especially the parts where people are against health care for everybody, it is a major achievement I think. I definitly prefer living in country which offers this to being part of a superpower (and I cannot see that it hampers economics - germany is not doing too bad). Where is the power when you get seriously ill and you cannot afford a cure which could help you??? Somebody wrote something about darwin and sorting the weak out. I do not know the words to say what I feel about this.

Oh come on. The odds of the US lasting a decade in its current form aren't good, and the odds of them seeing out the century are virtually non-existent. America's only saving grace is its extraordinary incompetence. Describing them as having an 'empire' is a bit of a stretch, and at best can only be used in the context of a franchise style of 'empire'. While Americans make much of the penetration of their popular culture into foreign countries, it really is limited to movies, music, jeans and bad food franchises, and has minimal effect on foreign cultures.
They might want to consider developing functional health, welfare, education and justice systems before they get on with their plans for world domination. Maybe start small, like with a single kindergarten or something. Of course, learning where foreign countries actually are will also be a huge help next time they want to blow one up. Doing away with the creepy ultra-nationalist propaganda that passes for US media might also be of some benefit if they want to be taken seriously. Absurd euphemisms and laughably transparent sophistry aren't fooling anyone - except Americans, it would seem.
Seriously, the US couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery. They're the national equivalent of a psychopathic fat kid that beats up little kids and steals their lunch money. Hopefully they'll continue to nuke themsleves in the foot repeatedly and the world won't have to unite and step in.

Well, eventually everything will change. But it will change globally and not for the benefit of anyone. As climates change globally, food sources will become difficult to produce and populations will decrease rapidly in a short amount of time. Now, most capitalistic societies arent based on agriculture anymore, but all the money in the world wont fill stomachs.
As far as the US is concerned, if the US was non existant, food sources around the world would be greatly diminished. Places like Europe, Russia, China, India, Middle East, etc are significantly dependent on the food sources provided by the United States' "bread basket". Many areas of the world simply dont have the fertile land to feed the massive populations that are being produced and most nations, including many first world nations, cannot physically produce the volume necessary to feed their own populations.
Right now food is low on most first world priority lists due to its abundance. But capitalism is based on supply and demand and as climates change, crop yields will eventually diminish driving down the supply, while, at the same time, populations increase. It's an inevitability at present that things will change greatly eventually, but it doesnt bode well for the majority of the populace.
There is something to be said for a "free nation". More people are willing to contribute to the general information bank when they know their ideas wont be hindered or inhibited. Good or bad, the knowledge bank is far bigger in the US then anywhere else in the world. The internet definitely does benefit much of the rest of the world, but much of the information is used souly by the US populace to improve lives.
Anyway, long story short, the US does directly affect much of the rest of the world and therefore will always have its hand in everything.
