Gangs are just juvenile Organized Crime - i.e. same thing, different age. You might try to add The Columbians to the list. And Jamaicans, Russians, Georgians, Falung Gong, etc. It is not just the Mafia any more.

True, but gangs are more blue collar crime. example would be drugs, or mugging, stealing stuff.

The difference is pretty much nill. It's just a question of who does what, and it varies.

That is because they do not have the adult outlook or resources to get into white collar crime stuff (Numbers, Prostitution, etc.).

correct gangs are into more teenager stuff because most of them are teenagers.

here is the definiton for organized crime.

Ongoing conspiratorial enterprise engaged in illicit activities as a means of generating income (as black money). Structured like a business into a pyramid shaped hierarchy, it freely employs violence and bribery to maintain its operations, threats of grievous retribution (including murder) to maintain internal and external control, and thuggery and contribution to election campaigns to buy political patronage for immunity from exposure and prosecution. Its activities include credit card fraud, gun running, illegal gambling, insurance fraud, kidnapping for ransom, narcotics trade, pornography, prostitution, racketeering, smuggling, vehicle theft, etc.

here is the definiton for gangs

Gang activities are not restricted to typical organized crime groups,[1] but may be associated with a general class of behavior in which collective action and support of communal interests and goals serves to achieve social cohesion or solidarity "especially in gangs, cults, unions, political parties or movements, and religious sects."[2]An article in the Journal of Contemporary Criminal Justice defines a street gang or troublesome youth group as "any durable, street-oriented youth group whose own identity includes involvement in illegal activity". This definition was developed over 5 years and agreed on by more than 100 gang research scholars in the United States and Europe.[3][4]

Texas law defines "organized crime" as having 3 or more participants WWW Link Personally, when it comes to "gangs" versus "organized crime" I see little difference between the two.
