Just my place where I can put what I want, and read what people think about what I said.

I bought diplomacy the computer game for 5 bucks at a store and I have one question for it before I open it (so I can return it if it's bad). Is it a good game and worth the 5 bucks? I read some reviews and they were not that promising but I still want to hear want people think.

Few questions...

1. Is that 5 dollars including or excluding sales tax?

2. How far away is the store where you bought the game?

3. Whats the average gas mileage on your vehicle?

After you figure all that out I would say "To hell with" and open the game.

And while you're at it, make sure you add the word "it" to your statement, otherwise you might sound silly

NOTE: apparently you can't edit anymore

1. 5 dollars not including sales tax
2. close, but I am on vacation
3. not old enough to drive.
4. where do I need to put the "it"?

"so I can return it if it's bad"

I'd say just open it and have at it. Unless it completely trashes your computer, takes over your identity, has an affair with your cat, and blows up the neighbor's house, I'd say it will be worth the 5 bucks (no, I've never played it). I picked up the much-maligned MoO 3 for 5 bucks and felt it was well worth it.

I just can't decide what part of your respose is funniest... probably the mention of sales tax as a deciding factor.

From the few reviews I've seen of the game, my impression is that Diplomacy (by Paradox Interactive) is actually pretty awful. Gamespy gave it only a half-star -- the first time they've ever rated a game that low.

That review is hilarious.

"Online play is an enigma wrapped in a mystery held by a man whose job is to kick you in the crotch."

Yeah, I love Dave Kosak. A very funny man, is he.

Yea, I was just kidding about the sales tax. And the "it" was supposed to be added so that you say "To hell with IT", and just open the box. If you read my first reply I said "to hell with"...which frankly, makes no sense.

I would say go for it! And enjoy it.

Ouch. I can't imagine anyone buying the game after reading that review. If it's right, you ought to return it (not that I have played it to say, but still, that review really was not positive...).

You've got to love that quote.

I'd say even $5 dollars sounds too high, but hey you might still like it.

He stated that he's not yet old enough to drive, so maybe the $5 is more substantial to him as it might be to others.

Nequa, I suppose if you happen to be near the store you can return it but making the trip just for the $5 (plus tax) may not be worth it.

Wow! I have seen very few professional game reviews that had absolutely nothing positive to say about the game they were reviewing. The half star must of been because it would at least boot up .

Thanks for the input guys, I played the game and its BAD. A good way of how painfull the game was to play, would be in the first Indiana Jones movie where the Ark of the coveant melts one of the Nazys faces off. Also I asked about reterning it and I was told that there are no returns. Bastards, but then again it is a store where everything is or undear 5 dollars.

I once knew a dude who LOVED the board game. He bought the CD and within 2 days he was using it as a coaster!!! Hehehehe...he bought a $30 coaster.
